The maiden edition of International Journal of IT & Management (IJICTM) ISSN No. 2026-6839 was launched on 22nd February 2013 at the auditorium of Academic City, Accra. It was launched by the Founder and Chairman of Academic City & IJICTM, Dr. Kapil Gupta, President of GTUC, Prof. Osei Darkwa and Academic Head of Academic City, Dr. Raju Sonavane. The journal is supported by academicians and researchers from Ghana and abroad and provides a promising platform in shaping future research and development activities in both academia and industry, in fields ranging from Information Communication science to Management including but not limited to Information System, HR, Finance, Marketing, Operations Research and Others.
With the objective to promote human mind, develop knowledge specialists, research, critical thinking, scholarship and an unrelenting search of truth, this journal will facilitate the researchers, students and faculties of both these sciences. This journal is an initiative of the NIIT and SMU Ghana Think tank and Research Team.
IJICTM is a high quality peer-reviewed journal devoted to the publication of original research papers in ICT and Management and its broad range of applications. This provides the free platform to the new research scholars and scientists to publish their original work of international level. IJICTM is an open access journal. All content is freely available without charge to any user or his/her institution. Users are allowed to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of the articles in this journal without asking prior permission from the publisher or the author. Electronic version of the journal is also available under this website.
Launching the Maiden edition, Dr. Kapil Gupta said “As the pioneers in IT and Management Education in Ghana for over a decade, we have witnessed the evolution of IT and Management education through this important phase where the conventional modes of learning have been challenged as well as complimented by advances in enabled learning across platforms and where teacher-learner interactions have moved from face-to-face tutoring to virtual tutoring. With our engagement with institutions of higher learning like NIIT, Sikkim Manipal University, Sunderland University and The Open University (all overseas) as well as University of Education based in Ghana, it has been our constant endeavor to bring the latest IT and Management education to the doorsteps of every Ghanaian and our west African neighbours, and to deploy path-breaking educational methodologies to impart education to our ever-so-demanding learners.”
The launch of the journal also coincided with the International Conference on Information Security and E-business (ICISeB) on 22nd February 2013 at the auditorium of Academic City, Accra.
The IJICTM editorial board has focused on publishing articles describing recent fundamental contributions in the field of Computational Science and its applications along with scholarly, empirical and theoretical research articles that have a high impact on the management field as a whole. The journal encourages new ideas or new perspectives on existing research.
Representatives from various government agencies, including Ministry of Works and Housing, Youth and Sports, and Communications were present during the launch and appreciated the effort of Academic City in creating a platform for future research in the country.
